score and parts
The "Kleine Musik" for 3 flutes, published here for the first time in print, probably dates from his time in Berlin, as the handwritten version bears a stamp of Hans Lange with his Berlin address at that time.
Hans Lange's music is difficult to classify, sounding at times refreshingly unwieldy, bold and humorously experimental, evidently from a time in which the most diverse musical currents were attempting to find a way out of the exhausting Romanticism.
Even though the manuscript provides a very clear and comprehensible musical text, some corrections were necessary for this edition, which became apparent when looking at the score. These concern articulation and rhythmic errors in the notation.
