Tre Serenate  3 Serenads

for 3 Flutes

score and parts

Along with Bellini and Donizetti, Mercadante is considered the most important Italian opera composer of the period between Rossini and Verdi. He was very successful during his lifetime; his operas were performed throughout Italy and often abroad for years after their premiere. In addition, however, Mercadante was also active as a composer of instrumental concertos. His flute concertos, as well as the present "3 Serenate per tre flauti", date from his student days in Naples.

This new edition is based on the parts of the first edition published by Ricordi Milano. Some errors have been corrected. Arbitrary articulation and dynamics in the individual parts of the first edition have been replaced by uniform ones and serve as a suggestion.
